On June 20, students in District 88’s Transition Program visited Addison Village Hall and received a behind-the-scenes tour of the facility.

The Transition Program helps individuals ages 18 to 21 who have disabilities learn life skills, obtain job training in a community setting and transition to life after District 88. Participants in that program are paired with local businesses/organizations and receive individualized training at those sites with the assistance of vocational coaches.

During their field trip, students met with Village of Addison Mayor Rich Veenstra and saw the courtroom, where they had a question-and-answer session with DuPage County Associate Judge Kavita Athanikar.
