It was a tremendous winter sports season at Addison Trail, and our student-athletes certainly continued the Blazer Pride that is Addison Trail Athletics!

Below is a recap with highlights.

Girls Basketball
The team finished the season 10-19. The team struggled after its Thanksgiving Tournament, but rebounded well and finished the season strong. The girls beat a very strong Streamwood team and won the playoff game against West Chicago. Senior Nicci Scorza played a huge role in our success this year, averaging 12 points a game and 9.4 rebounds a game.

Boys Basketball
The team won the Elmwood Park Thanksgiving Tournament. Junior JT Daniels was named to the All-Conference team in the West Suburban Conference Gold Division, and seniors AJ Parnell, Ramon Casey Jr., Guillermo Rizo and Vito Ciaccia were named to the All-Academic team in the West Suburban Conference Gold Division. Daniels and junior Adem Mehmeti were named All-Tourney at the Elmwood Park Tournament, and Daniels also was named All-Tourney at the Lake Zurich Tournament. Senior Connor Palesch received All-Tourney honors during the Jacobs Holiday Classic and had a single-season record of 83.

Girls Bowling
The team consisted of 34 bowlers. The junior varsity level completed its season with a 1-9 record overall, and a 1-7 record in Conference. The team’s improvement during the season was tremendous, and the girls built the foundation for the future. The varsity team had nine students named to the All-Conference and All-Academic teams in the West Suburban Conference Gold Division. The group’s overall record was 0-9, which included a 0-8 Conference season. With a freshman and two sophomores performing at the varsity level, the future is bright. The girls have shown great improvement. At the Regional tournament, the Blazers finished higher than two opponents who beat us during the regular season.

The team was rounded out by junior Madalyn Rumps, sophomore Mikayla O’Donnell, freshman Alexis Theodore and Sectional qualifier freshman Francesca Scarabaggio. The team topped out at 121.675 at the Addison Trial Invite, which was a welcome bounce back from an earlier score of 112. The team ended up 3rd in Conference, with an excellent showing from Stamatopoulos, who made All-Conference on floor and vault.

Addison Trail-Willowbrook Boys Swim Team
The team took first place at the Shepard Invite. The boys placed in the top six for every event except one. They were behind by 4 points before the last event and, with the first-place finish in the relay, they were able to capture the title. The team placed 3rd at the Conference meet.
