On March 14, 38 Addison Trail students who are enrolled in the school’s Culinary II course participated in the annual Chili Contest.

Addison Trail Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers Jennifer Kowalski and Amy Murphy said students were judged by staff members on the color, texture, aroma, heat and flavor of their recipes. The chefs were encouraged to be creative and put their own touches on the chili.

The winning team members from Kowalski’s class are juniors Michael Scali, Nicholas Daudelin, Luke Horak and Tyler Decker. The winners from Murphy’s class are junior Daisy Cobos, junior Jaime Mejia and sophomore Fernando Zarco. As the champions, the teams won the Wooden Spoon award.
