Throughout the school year, nine Willowbrook students are representing Willowbrook and the school’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) department by attending Student Leadership Academy events at College of DuPage (COD).

Those students were chosen to be part of that group, and, as members, they participate in three leadership training and career-building seminars, where speakers discuss a variety of college-and-career-oriented topics. They also have the opportunity to have their résumé reviewed and practice mock interviews with professionals in various fields. The group, along with other DuPage-area schools, met on Nov. 16, 2017, and Jan. 25, 2018, and will have a final meeting on March 9, 2018.

The Willowbrook pupils participating in the Student Leadership Academy are senior Taha Akhtar, senior Luz Alcala, senior Catherine Carey, senior Steven Cerda-Sanchez, senior Patrick Florey, senior Jiana Funteas, senior Anthony Lang, senior Kiran Pentela and junior Martin Leskiewicz.
