On Jan. 30, 20 Addison Trail students in world language teacher Enza Spilotro’s Italian 4H class visited eighth-graders at Indian Trail Junior High School.

The high-schoolers collaborated with Indian Trail Italian teacher Lauren Barone’s class and led interactive language game stations. Through those activities, they helped the younger students review Italian grammar and vocabulary concepts.

“My goal was to begin a relationship with our feeder program at Indian Trail,” Spilotro said. “I wanted my students to take the lead and work as mentors to our incoming freshmen. The day was wonderful. Students were having conversations in Italian and enjoying the morning playing some fun language games!”
