Willowbrook to host Relay For Life of District 88 All Youth event

Cancer survivors and their caregivers walk the first laps during a previous Relay For Life of District 88 All Youth event at Willowbrook. This year's event will take place on March 10 to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

At District 88, giving back and helping others is a cornerstone of pride. And one of the district’s main fundraising events is the Relay For Life of District 88 All Youth, which is the culmination of Willowbrook’s Brook Olympics (a weeklong series of events and challenges created to enhance tradition and class spirit and pride at the school). Those events – along with Facial Hair February and “Go Pink” efforts in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month – raise funds for the American Cancer Society.

This year is the district’s 8th annual relay. The event will take place on March 10 at Willowbrook and is open to District 88 students and staff. It will feature yoga, dancing, basketball, volleyball, pingpong, karaoke, games, a moon jump, an iced coffee bar and more. There also will be a luminaria to remember those who have lost their battle with cancer.

District 88 students and staff are invited to sign up and participate in the relay. To register, go to https://tinyurl.com/D-88RelayForLife2018. Donations can be made online at that link as well, and proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society.
