Addison Trail seniors accepted to Elmhurst College during surprise visit from college representatives

On Dec. 1, 18 Addison Trail seniors received exciting news – they have been accepted to Elmhurst College.

The students were surprised with the announcement and a visit from Elmhurst College President Troy D. VanAken and the school’s mascot, Victor E. Bluejay (pictured above, center, with Addison Trail's mascot, Bucky the Blazer). VanAken and Addison Trail Principal Michael Bolden congratulated the seniors and their families on being admitted to the college through its Early Action program and encouraged them to continue working hard to pursue their goals. District 88 Superintendent Dr. Scott Helton also attended the event to celebrate this success with the students.

Each admittee was presented with a “Bluejay Box,” which contained a letter of acceptance, a scholarship offer, an Elmhurst cap and more. Several Addison Trail staff members who are Elmhurst College alumni also stopped by.
