District 88 Foundation hosts first Karaoke/Lip-Synch Night

On Nov. 3, the auditorium at Addison Trail was filled with music, as the District 88 Foundation hosted its first Karaoke/Lip-Synch Night.

Contestants performed songs from a variety of genres and artists – including Smash Mouth, Elvis Presley, Barry Manilow, Neil Diamond and Cher.

Below are the competition results.

Adult division

  • Best Voice: Addison Trail alumnus Mick Raab (pictured above)

  • Best Performance: Willowbrook alumnus Nick Kokoraleis (pictured above)

Student division

  • Best Voice: Willowbrook senior Marissa Marcello (pictured above)

  • Best Performance: Addison Trail sophomore Joseph Williams (pictured above)

Addison Trail Principal Michael Bolden and Willowbrook Principal Dr. Daniel Krause also joined in the fun and sang a duet.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the District 88 Foundation, and funds raised by the foundation have been used to assist Addison Trail and Willowbrook students in the following areas.

  • Supporting the Addison Trail Freshmen Future Focus Initiative Trip to Madison, Wis.
  • Supporting the Mindprints Literary Magazine at Willowbrook
  • Subsidizing Advanced Placement (AP)/college-level tests
  • Providing financial support for textbooks and summer camps
  • Contributing to the “Author in the House” district-wide program
  • Providing mini-grants for staff members to develop instructional opportunities to benefit students
