Become a substitute teacher in DuPage County

The DuPage County Regional Office of Education (ROE) will host an Informational Meeting on how to become a substitute teacher.

The ROE invites recent college graduates, retirees, individuals looking for a flexible, ever-changing work environment and all those who enjoy working with children to attend this event to learn about the process of becoming a substitute teacher.

A substitute teacher in DuPage County must:

  • Be certified to teach, or hold a four-year degree in any area of study
  • Have a valid educator license (qualifying licenses include a Professional Educator License, a Substitute Teaching License or a Para Professional License with a bachelor degree on file)
  • Complete a fingerprint background check
