District 88 recognizes community leaders, first responders and veterans during crosstown football game

On Sept. 15, District 88 hosted its annual Crosstown Classic Football Game between the Addison Trail Blazers and the Willowbrook Warriors. The event took place at Willowbrook, and the Warriors won the game.

Before the varsity teams took to the gridiron, the district introduced local community leaders to the crowd to thank them for their support of Addison Trail and Willowbrook. Area first responders and veterans also were recognized to honor those who protect and serve in remembrance of Sept. 11, 2001.

Attending the game were representatives from the District 88 Board of Education, Salt Creek School District 48, School District 45, DuPage Regional Office of Education, Addison Fire Protection District, Addison Police Department, Villa Park VFW Post 2801, Village of Villa Park, Villa Park Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club of Villa Park, Rotary Club of Villa Park, Villa Park Fire Department, Villa Park Police Department and State Sen.
