Willowbrook Math Team makes school history

Members of the Willowbrook Math Team recently made school history by becoming Willowbrook’s first Math Team to win a Regional competition.

As the winning team, Willowbrook qualified for the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics (ICTM) State Math Contest, which will take place on May 6 at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Regionals took place on Feb. 25 at Joliet Junior College, and the team also earned 1st place in the following divisions: Algebra, Geometry, Freshman/Sophomore Two-Person, Junior/Senior Eight-Person and Oralist. The Freshmen/Sophomore Eight-Person group earned 2nd place. Students in those divisions will compete at State as well.
