Two Willowbrook students and a Willowbrook alumna named as Lilac Princesses in Lombard Junior Women’s Club’s Lilac Princess Program

Two Willowbrook students and a Willowbrook alumna were recently named as Lilac Princesses in the Lombard Junior Women’s Club’s Lilac Princess Program. They are junior Taylor Balsitis, senior Kyla Denwood and alumna Liana Pavese (class of 2015).

According to the Junior Women’s Club’s website, the program was implemented in 1930 and is open to young ladies from Lombard who are between 16 and 21 years old. Contestants are judged on their academic record and community service involvement, as well as their poise, grace, speaking ability and appearance. The coronation of the queen will take place on May 6 at Lilacia Park in Lombard, and all contestants will receive scholarship money.

Appearances Balsitis, Denwood and Pavese will attend as princesses include:

  • Little Lady Lilac Ball (hosted by the Lombard Park District)
  • Lilac Ball (hosted by the Lombard Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry)
  • Lombard Easter Egg Hunt (hosted by the Lombard Park District and sponsored by the Lombard Lions Club)
  • Princess/Mother High Tea (hosted by the Lombard Junior Women's Club)
  • Lilac Parade (they will have the place of honor on the featured float)
