LifeSource presents District 88 with blood-drive proceeds to benefit students

During the Oct. 17 District 88 Board of Education meeting, LifeSource presented District 88 with a check for $8,000.

The money is from blood drives hosted during the 2015-16 school year at Addison Trail and Willowbrook and will go toward scholarships for District 88 students. District 88 received the check for having about 688 people participate in the blood drives. According to LifeSource, each unit of blood collected supports three lives, which means about 1,700 lives have been supported thanks to the generosity of those donors.

LifeSource Addison Community Blood Drive Chairperson Judy Socha said this school year marks the 45th year Addison Trail will participate in blood drives.
