District 88 receives national-level communication award

District 88 has received a national-level communication award from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA).

The district received an Honorable Mention in the Excellence in Writing category through NSPRA’s Communication Awards program (Publications and Electronic Media Awards). That program recognizes outstanding work in all types and forms of education communication and marketing, including print, electronic, video, audio, websites, social media and more. Three levels of awards are given to the top entries in each category. An Award of Excellence is the top level, followed by an Award of Merit and an Honorable Mention.

District 88 was recognized for an article highlighting the journey of Willowbrook student-athlete Matt Rowland on his path to winning the 2016 Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Boys Wrestling State Tournament in the 170-pound division.
