District 88 Board of Education approves 2016-17 school year calendar

During its March 7 meeting, the District 88 Board of Education approved the 2016-17 school year calendar.

Highlights of the calendar include:

• First day of classes: Aug. 17, 2016
• Graduation: May 21, 2017
• Last day of classes: May 26, 2017 (provided no emergency days are used)

Breaks:

• Thanksgiving break: Nov. 23 - 25, 2016
• Winter break: Dec. 26, 2016 - Jan. 6, 2017 (Dec. 23, 2016, is an Institute Day)
• Spring break: March 27 - 31, 2017

Exams:

• First-semester exams: Dec. 20 - 22, 2016
• Second-semester exams: May 24 - 26, 2017
