Progress reports now available online

As we begin the second semester of the 2015-16 school year, the Technology Department is thrilled to share exciting changes and updates.

District 88 continues to improve its technology services, and three areas of focus are listed below.

  1. An online progress report option
  2. An online registration process
  3. Chromebooks for students to check out

We are implementing an option to have progress reports available online. Starting with the February progress report, parents/guardians who have signed up for a PowerSchool or a Nucleus LMS account will receive an electronic copy of their student’s progress report by e-mail. That electronic copy will be sent in addition to the traditional progress report mailing. Parents/guardians also will have the ability to view progress reports online by logging in to their Nucleus LMS account, and they may opt out of receiving future mailings of their child’s progress report. Instructions on how to access that option will be sent soon through mailings and e-mail notifications.

We also are happy to introduce a paperless registration process for the 2016-17 school year. We will expand the pre-registration timeline, so parents/guardians can use online features rather than paper forms when registering their student. Pre-registration dates will be set soon. For families who need computer access, registration stations will be available during that pre-registration timeline at Addison Trail and Willowbrook.

Another exciting technology development is a donation by the District 88 Foundation. The foundation has provided 12 Chromebooks (six for Addison Trail and six for Willowbrook) with built-in Internet access that students may check out through the Addison Trail and Willowbrook media centers.

We are pleased to share these updates with you, and we will continue to keep you informed of ongoing technology developments. If you have any questions, or would like more information, feel free to contact me at alenaghan@dupage88.net or 630-782-3133.
