Counseling Corner: Willowbrook to host 4th annual Senior Recognition Ceremony

May 29 marks the 4th annual Willowbrook Senior Recognition Ceremony.

The day will begin with graduation practice and will then transition into an all-school assembly at 9:20 a.m. to recognize the many accomplishments of the senior class. Recognitions include department awards for Outstanding Seniors, top-5-percent recognition, Illinois State Scholars, President's Award for Educational Achievement and more.

Along with those honors, more than 40 internal and local organizations are invited to present deserving seniors with scholarships they have applied for throughout the semester. By having an all-school assembly, it shows underclassmen how many recognitions and future scholarship opportunities are available.

The class of 2015 has received more than $5 million in scholarships – a number Willowbrook hopes will continue to increase with the rising costs of college. Seniors should report any scholarships they receive to the Willowbrook Guidance Office no later than May 12. Seniors can pick up a Senior Scholarship form in the English Office or the Guidance Office.
