District 88 stakeholders show their support through foundation events

As President of the District 88 Board of Education and the Partnership for Inspired Education (PIE) Foundation, it never ceases to amaze me how generous our community is when it comes to helping our students to ensure they receive a quality education.

That support was never more evident than during two recent District 88 Foundation events, which benefit District 88 students.

The District 88 Foundation is a member of the PIE Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that serves public school students in District 88, Addison Elementary School District 4, School District 45 and Salt Creek School District 48. On March 15, the PIE Foundation hosted its annual show/dinner/silent auction event at Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace. During that event, 300 people enjoyed a performance of “West Side Story,” a dinner and a silent auction. As I looked around the room, I was overwhelmed to see how much our stakeholders are willing to give to better our school districts. The evening raised funds that will benefit students in the school districts listed above.
