Superintendent’s Student Leadership Team provides student insight

On Feb. 13, about 25 students from Addison Trail and Willowbrook attended a Superintendent’s Student Leadership Team meeting.

During that meeting, the students spoke with District 88 Superintendent Dr. Scott Helton, Addison Trail Principal Adam Cibulka and Willowbrook Principal Dan Krause about what is going well in the district and what could be improved from their perspective. They also reviewed the calendar for the 2015-16 school year with the administrators.

Lastly, Willowbrook Social Worker Erik Engel led the students in an exercise to think about how District 88 student leaders could partner with the elementary school districts that feed into Addison Trail and Willowbrook. The students discussed with the administrators ways they could mentor the younger students on topics such as substance abuse and healthy relationships.

Helton meets with the Superintendent’s Student Leadership Team throughout the school year to gather feedback from the students and to hear firsthand how they feel about District 88.
