District 88 alternate schedule during student testing

On April 23 and 24, District 88 will implement an alternate schedule to accommodate student testing.

On those two days, designated students will take the state-mandated Prairie State Achievement Exam (PSAE). The PSAE is important because Illinois requires all students to take this exam to receive a high school diploma.

The following is a link to the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) website with information about the PSAE: http://www.isbe.state.il.us/assessment/pdfs/2013/psae/psae-parent-bro.pdf. Day one of the PSAE is the ACT, an exam used by most colleges and universities as part of their admissions process. Day two of the exam is the ACT WorkKeys. Together, these scores are used to determine whether students are making Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP).
