During the Oct. 25 cross-town football game between Willowbrook and Addison Trail, District 88 thanked community leaders and members for their support of the district.

Local school board members, village officials and service organization members were introduced before the game. Those members were Deb Bullwinkel, Village of Villa Park Village President; Ron Rakosnik, Village of Villa Park Fire Chief; Rich Keehner, Village of Villa Park Village Manager; Rich Veenstra, Village of Addison Mayor; Don Markowski, Addison Fire Protection District Fire Chief; Sean Birmingham, Head of Adult Services at the Villa Park Public Library and representing the Villa Park Lions Club; Irene Shaffer, Kiwanis Club of Villa Park Vice President/Treasurer; Hosanna Korynecky, Village of Villa Park Village Clerk and Kiwanis Club of Villa Park President; Beverly Johnston, Kiwanis Club of Villa Park member; Linda Nystrom, School District 45 Board of Education President; and members of the District 88 Board of Education, which is comprised of President Donna Craft Cain, Vice President Jay Irvin, Secretary Sharon Kucik, Member Thomas Edmier, Member Tim Gillen, Member Mark Johnson and Member Lisa Lullo.

Also during the game, winners of the District 88 Foundation Super Raffle were announced. Six winners were drawn at random and included three $50 winners, a $100 winner, a $250 winner and a $500 winner. The big $500 winner was Kevin Kohrt.

“I’ve been a coach with the Villa Park Warriors youth football team for six years, I have two sons at Willowbrook, I’m a 1984 alumnus of Willowbrook and I’ve lived in Lombard for more than 40 years, so we want to support the school in any way we can,” Kohrt said. “I’m very excited to win, but even if I didn’t win, I knew the money was going to a great cause.”

Proceeds from the Super Raffle will benefit District 88 students.
