Willowbrook senior, Addison Trail alumnus honored by National Football Foundation

On Feb. 20, Willowbrook senior Sarah Ball and Addison Trail alumnus Nicholas D’Ambrose (class of 2018) were recognized and honored by the National Football Foundation (NFF).

Ball was one of three recipients of the National Football Foundation Chicago Metro Chapter’s Scholar-Athlete Award, which recognizes students for excellence on the football field, in the classroom and in the community and provides them with a $5,000 scholarship. She is the first flag football player and the third female student-athlete to receive this award. Ball also has been selected to be on the NFF's annual Team of Distinction. D’Ambrose was honored as an NFF National Scholar-Athlete and a 2022 William V. Campbell Trophy Finalist, which recognizes an individual for academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership. He is a running back at The University of Chicago.
