Addison Trail students observe live broadcast of heart surgery

On Jan. 25, Addison Trail students who are enrolled in Principles of Biomedical Science took an in-school field trip to watch a live broadcast of a heart surgery.

The program, called “Live from the Heart,” is run through Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago and Advocate Christ Medical Center. Students were able to speak with medical staff in the operating room and observe them performing a triple bypass surgery on a patient.
