Addison Trail hosts program for Spanish-speaking parents: Dr. Ferney Ramírez presents about ‘10 Secrets to Create a Powerful Family’

On Sept. 13, Dr. Ferney Ramírez (a respected psychologist and coordinator of bilingual parent-education programs) presented in Spanish to about 50 Addison Trail parents/guardians, who are members of the school’s Padres Latinos en Acción group.

Through that group, Spanish-speaking parents/guardians increase their knowledge of the school system to help their children achieve at the highest level. Meeting topics include information on accessing college, financial aid, rigorous academic programming, social-emotional concerns and community issues. For details about Padres Latinos en Acción, contact Addison Trail Assistant Principal Iridia Niewinski at iniewinski@dupage88.net or 630-628-3304.

Dr. Ramírez (pictured standing in the photos above) presented “10 Secrets to Create a Powerful Family,” which highlighted the essential affirmations children must learn from their parents as children and adolescents to mature into successful, balanced and positive adults. Participants learned how to encourage loving, supportive and respectful relationships with their children and how to create positive communication.
