Addison Trail world language teacher named as AP Advocates Program National Advocate Lead

Addison Trail world language teacher Judie Vitiritti-Lynch (pictured above) has taught Advanced Placement (AP)/college-level courses at the school for nearly 15 years, and she has seen firsthand the benefits students receive from enrolling in those classes.

Vitiritti-Lynch’s involvement with AP led her to become an AP Advocate in 2014-15, and she was selected as the State Advocate Lead for Illinois in 2016-17. Through this position, Vitiritti-Lynch will continue to:

  • Build and establish a network of teachers to initiate, moderate and analyze online and in-person discussions that develop policy recommendations for supporting and expanding AP
  • Share knowledge and resources with the teacher network and appropriate stakeholders
  • Create and cultivate relationships with policymakers to help them better understand teacher views to present teacher-generated solutions on key state and federal AP policy and funding issues
  • Collaborate with other Advocate Leads
