Willowbrook hosts SkillsUSA National Signing Day

On May 4, Willowbrook participated in the SkillsUSA National Signing Day. That event celebrates high school seniors and college/postsecondary students who have chosen to pursue a career in any of the skilled trades. The goal is to help close the skills gap and raise awareness of options available in the skilled trades.

Four Willowbrook seniors were recognized as they signed letters of intent, in a style similar to National Signing Day events for student-athletes. They were celebrated among school administrators, teachers, SkillsUSA advisers, family members and friends (following policies and procedures in place regarding social distancing and other health/safety measures). Below are the students who were recognized, along with their postsecondary plans.

  • Lukasz Daszkiewicz: United States National Guard
  • Marco Oliveros: WyoTech
  • Daniel Waddle: Universal Technical Institute
  • Jorge Vera-Ramirez: Will begin his career in the automotive field
