Willowbrook Black Organization for Student Success (BOSS) hosts two events

The Willowbrook Black Organization for Student Success (BOSS) recently hosted the two events below.

• On April 24, the group hosted a memorial in honor of Sandra Bland (Willowbrook alumna, class of 2005), who passed away on July 13, 2015. The event was hosted in partnership with Bland’s family and included dedicating a tree and a plaque for Bland and sharing memories of her life. To watch the memorial, click the video above. • On April 27, students met with seven panelists, who shared their experiences of attending historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and predominantly white institutions (PWIs) (see the photo above).
