Five Willowbrook students recently participated in the 9th Annual Illinois High School Art Exhibition (IHSAE). This year’s event, which was called the “IHSAExperience,” took place from April 7 to 11 and was hosted virtually because of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

The exhibition showcases more than 1,300 students from more than 150 high schools throughout Illinois annually to celebrate student artists, connect them to post-secondary creative career opportunities and reinforce the power of art in their lives. Participants vie for top recognition awards and college scholarships. For more information, go to https://www.artconnected.org/copy-of-2021-digital-exhibtion.

The Willowbrook students who competed are senior Autumn Esterday, senior Griselda Zavala, senior Annika Schramek, junior Eric Duffey and sophomore Kelly Franco. Esterday won Best in Show for the category of pottery.
