Two District 88 Board of Education members recognized by Illinois Association of School Boards for leadership and service to public education

District 88 is proud to share two members of the District 88 Board of Education have been recognized through the Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) Master Board Member Program for the time and effort they devote to leadership activities and service to the public education community. District 88 Board of Education President Donna Craft Cain (pictured above) has maintained her Master Board Member status, which she earned in 2019. Craft Cain has served on the board since 2004 and has been Board President since 2011. She also was Board Secretary from 2009 to 2011. During her time on the board, Craft Cain has served on 18 District 88 Board of Education committees. Craft Cain’s connection to District 88 goes beyond serving as a Board Member – she is an alumna of Willowbrook (class of 1981), is a parent of three District 88 graduates and is a longtime resident and business owner in the District 88 community.

District 88 Board of Education Secretary Blanca Jessen (pictured above) has earned Level II status. Jessen has served on the board since 2015 and has been Board Secretary since 2019. During her time on the board, Jessen has served on 13 District 88 Board of Education committees. Jessen’s two children graduated from Willowbrook, as did her husband, Dennis (class of 1986). Jessen also has been a member of the Willowbrook Parent Organization (WPO) and the Willowbrook Athletic Booster Club.

Craft Cain and Jessen will be honored during the IASB DuPage Division meeting on Nov. 4. This year’s event will take place virtually because of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
