Districts 4, 45, 48 and 88 continue to work together to benefit students

Addison School District 4, District 45 in Villa Park, Salt Creek School District 48 in Villa Park and District 88 are committed to maintaining and improving a seamless transition for students from elementary school to high school.

As part of that focus, the districts formed a Learning Compact, where they collaborate and work together throughout the school year to ensure student success. On Aug. 14, the district Superintendents (John Langton with District 4, Anthony Palmisano with District 45, John Correll with District 48 and Scott Helton with District 88) sat down with District 88 Director of Technology, Teaching and Learning Aaron Lenaghan to talk about the Learning Compact and share their united vision.

Discussion topics included implementing and aligning to the new Common Core State Standards and developing common assessments to make sure pupils continue to receive a high-quality education. The Superintendents also spoke about their goals and areas of focus for the 2013-14 school year and how the Learning Compact is a unique opportunity for the districts to collaborate. Board of Education members from the districts also come together annually for a joint meeting to articulate their goals and further the communication and collaboration between the districts.
