Addison Trail partners with SkillsUSA and Klein Tools to recognize five seniors entering the skilled trades during National Signing Day

On May 7, Addison Trail participated in SkillsUSA National Signing Day (May 8) Sponsored by Klein Tools, which celebrated thousands of high school seniors throughout the U.S. who are pursuing a career in the skilled trades. The goal of that event was to help close the skills gap and raise awareness of career options in the skilled trades.

Five Addison Trail seniors were recognized as they signed their letters of intent, in a style similar to National Signing Day events for student-athletes. They are:

  • Eric Estrada: Will join SWD Inc. in Addison
  • Uriel Sanchez: Will join Automobile Mechanics’ Local 701 IAMAW
  • Eddy Espinoza II: Will join the Carpenters Union Local 1889
  • Adrian Reyes: Will join Painters District Council 14
  • Austin Rohlf: Will join the Carpenters Union Local 1889

The students were celebrated among school administrators, teachers, SkillsUSA advisors, family and friends.

Addison Trail was one of about 300 schools in the U.S. that participated in National Signing Day, which honored more than 2,500 students. The honorees also received a Klein Tools Signing Kit, which included a hat, a T-shirt and their first pair of Klein Tools pliers to begin their careers.
