District 88 Transition Program hosts Appreciation Luncheon to thank local businesses

POWERPOINT SLIDESHOW COMING SOON!

At District 88, our mission is to work for the continuous improvement of student achievement.

As part of that focus, the district provides the District 88 Transition Program, which helps individuals ages 18 to 21 who have disabilities learn life skills, obtain job training in a community setting and transition to life after District 88. Participants in that program are paired with local businesses/organizations and receive individualized training at those sites with the assistance of vocational coaches.

This year, Transition welcomed 56 students, and those individuals worked with 32 business partners. The program is successful because of the support and relationships those companies offer, and we hosted an Appreciation Luncheon on May 17 to thank those groups. See a photo gallery from that event below.

The Transition Program is always looking to expand, and businesses interested in participating should contact District 88 Vocational Coordinator Christine DiRienzo at cdirienzo@dupage88.net or 630-530-3248.

Thank you for your continued support of District 88.
