On March 13, 12 students in Willowbrook special education teacher Tiffany Linwood’s DLP class participated in a trial run of a mock airport experience put together by Lewis University's Occupational Therapy and Aviation departments.

Lewis University students in those programs conducted the activities (with supervision from their department directors). Willowbrook students learned about airport security, packing and getting on a plane. They also were able to use flight simulators. During the outing, 2017 Willowbrook graduate and aviation flight major Jacob Bay stopped by and visited with the group.

The field trip was made possible by Katie Petersen, Occupational Therapist with the School Association for Special Education in DuPage County (SASED) and graduate of Lewis University, and her professor, Dr. Susan Cahill (Associate Professor and Program Director of the Occupational Therapy Program at Lewis University).
