Willowbrook earns accreditation by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation

Willowbrook is proud to announce the school’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) Industry & Technology Department recently earned accreditation by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF).

According to https://tinyurl.com/NATEFAccreditation, “The NATEF 5-step accreditation process is engineered to evaluate a school’s automotive service program – its structure, processes, resources, materials and mission. (NATEF) perform(s) a thorough, strategic review and offer(s) accreditation to programs that meet the requirements of the industry’s highest instructional standards.”

Willowbrook was recognized for meeting the standards of quality for the training of automobile technicians at the Maintenance and Light Repair level.

“The NATEF certification is great for Willowbrook students and parents, because it makes certain our automotive program meets strict industry demands and ensures students a high-level education,” said Chris Dunk, Willowbrook CTE Industry & Technology teacher.

Willowbrook CTE Department Chair Mary Barney agreed.

“Thanks to Mr. Dunk's additional certifications and detailed work with our automotive programs, tools, equipment and requirements – as well as tremendous support from our community and the Willowbrook and District 88 administration and Board of Education – we are now able to offer more dual-credit courses through College of DuPage in our automotive programs with our recent NATEF accreditation,” Barney said. “We look forward to even more Willowbrook families benefiting from these certifications, college-credit opportunities and career field experiences.”
