Willowbrook is gearing up for its 2017 Brook Olympics, which will take place from March 13 to 17.
During the Brook Olympics, classes go head to head in a weeklong series of events and challenges, with the hope of their class being named as the champion. For every event that takes place, a gold medal earns three points, a silver medal earns two points and a bronze medal earns one point. A culminating assembly will take place on March 17. The Brook Olympics, a vision of teacher and coach Matt Scott, were created to help initiate tradition and a sense of class spirit and pride at Willowbrook.
Not only do the Brook Olympics bring tradition, spirit and pride to Willowbrook, they also support the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of District 88 All Youth. This year's relay will take place on March 18 at Willowbrook to raise money for the society. And there’s still time to sign up! Participants collected donations from friends, family members, students and colleagues. A bracket will be used for students to determine the winners of Facial Hair February, and those winners will be announced during the assembly on March 17.
