Addison Trail recently hosted three fairs to engage students with the school and to help prepare them for future success. A Student Activity Fair took place on Sept. 7, a College Fair took place on Sept. 14 and a Career Fair took place on Sept. 15.

The Activity Fair allowed students to learn more about the activities and clubs offered at Addison Trail, and 22 groups participated. Addison Trail has a nearly 70-percent participation rate in activities, athletic programs and clubs. If students cannot find a club in which they are interested, they have the opportunity to start a new one. The College Fair featured nearly 80 colleges and universities. Students were able to visit booths with information during their lunch periods to learn more about the postsecondary options available to them. The Career Fair featured more than 30 career options. Students were able to visit booths with information during their lunch periods to learn more about those careers. To see a list of the businesses that attended the fair, go to https://www.dupage88.net/site/public/files/?item=3048.

“We host these events because we want our students to begin with the end in mind,” said Addison Trail Principal Michael Bolden. “We know exposing students to the various ways in which they can get involved at school, as well as postsecondary options available to them, will help them plan their futures and be successful in whichever path they choose.”

The mission of District 88 is to work for the continuous improvement of student achievement, and Addison Trail and Willowbrook host activity, college and career fairs to help accomplish that mission.
