It’s a great time to be a Willowbrook Warrior

As 2016-17 gets under way at Willowbrook, I would like to welcome you to a new and exciting school year!

This year will be an opportunity for us to continue to build on our outstanding work together. It is with great enthusiasm and dedication all of us continue to “Live the Warrior Code,” demonstrating a pride in Willowbrook that provides the foundation for our success. The 2016-17 school year also will bring a continued commitment to providing an engaging learning environment for all students, preparing each for success beyond high school and throughout his or her lifetime.

Each year, our students demonstrate outstanding achievements academically and beyond the classroom. Once again, Willowbrook has received national honors as one of “America’s Most Challenging High Schools” by The Washington Post, “Best Public High Schools in the Chicago Metro Area” by the Niche Rankings and “Best High Schools” by U.S. News & World Report. We are extremely proud to receive those honors. From those national recognitions to the countless hours dedicated to the performing arts, extracurricular activities, athletics, volunteer services and community organizations, Willowbrook truly is an environment that promotes and supports the success of all students.

In 2015-16, we saw our graduates earn more than $6 million in scholarships and raise more than $100,000 for charities, foundations and those in need. The 2016-17 school year will provide yet another opportunity to expand the Pride, Tradition and Excellence of Willowbrook.

Throughout this week, we celebrated Homecoming at Willowbrook. You could feel the enthusiasm of our students and staff as they participated in fun lunchtime activities, a Powder-Puff Game, an all-school assembly and the return of our Homecoming Parade. The Homecoming Dance will take place tomorrow, Sept. 17. Seeing the halls filled with Warrior Pride was truly a great start to the school year! More coverage of Homecoming Week will be provided in our electronic newsletter and on our website soon.
