Music group comprised of Willowbrook students wins two competitions

Two Willowbrook alumni and a current student – Meghan Foley (class of 2016), her sister, Caitlin (class of 2018), and their cousin Dominic Giase (class of 2016) – have had quite a successful summer with their music group, Fenced In.

The trio recently competed in the Suburban Chicago’s Got Talent competition and won the Fan Favorite portion on Aug. 6. That prize is cumulatively decided upon by online votes after the competition's Top 20, Top 15 and Top 10 performance rounds. As the Fan Favorite act, Fenced In received an entertainment package with gift cards from local restaurants, theaters and attractions valued at more than $600. And Meghan is no stranger to that award, as she won the same title last year as a solo singer-songwriter.

Suburban Chicago's Got Talent is co-sponsored by the Daily Herald, Onesti Entertainment, Prairie Center for the Arts in Schaumburg, the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce, Amita Health, Valli Produce, Salon Lorrene and Zeigler Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Schaumburg. On July 31, Fenced In also won the Algonquin Regional competition of the Illinois Battle of the Bands. As the winner, the band will now advance to the State Finals on Aug. 20. For more information about that contest, go to www.illinoisbattleofthebands.com.
