Willowbrook Student Council hosts blood drive for LifeSource

On April 10, Willowbrook students and staff participated in a blood drive at the school to donate blood for LifeSource.

The blood drive was hosted by the Willowbrook Student Council. More than 200 people donated, and 164 units of blood were collected. According to the American Red Cross, one unit of blood can help three people. Willowbrook Student Council Advisor Jamie Gourley said because of the number of participants, LifeSource will give about $1,500 to the Willowbrook Parent Organization (WPO) to be used toward scholarships.

Students, staff and community members are welcome to continue giving toward Willowbrook’s total at the Villa Park donor center at 100 E. Roosevelt Road. Donors should use code 530C to add to Willowbrook’s blood drive total.
