Six Willowbrook students compete in Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge

Six Willowbrook students competed in the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge, which took place on Feb. 14 and 15 in St. Charles.

During that event, the students competed against other high schools to rebuild a car engine the fastest. Students had to follow rules regarding the process of how an engine gets rebuilt, and teams received a penalty if certain parts were installed incorrectly. The students had a chance to win scholarship money and advance to a national competition.

The Willowbrook students who competed are senior Josh Bay, senior Brian Kraabel, senior Rob Letson, junior Vince Ayala, senior Austin Denz and junior James Moore.
