District 88 students and staff give back through blood drives

Giving back is a cornerstone of District 88 pride.

And Willowbrook and Addison Trail recently showed their commitment to giving back by hosting blood drives to benefit LifeSource.

On Nov. 7, 195 Willowbrook students and staff members participated in a blood drive at the school (hosted by Student Council), and the event collected 171 units of blood. According to the American Red Cross, one unit of blood can help three people.

On Nov. 11, 185 Addison Trail students and staff members participated in a blood drive at the school, and the event collected 150 units of blood.

District 88’s participation in the blood drives will not only save lives, it also will earn District 88 students scholarship money from LifeSource. Blood donations are accepted at any of the LifeSource donation centers, and an appointment can be made by calling 877-543-3768 or registering online at www.lifesource.org.
