The class of 2014 continues the Pride, Tradition and Excellence of Willowbrook High School

Greetings from Willowbrook High School!

The 2013-14 school year is quickly coming to a close, and it has been an outstanding year.

Academically, we are honored to be recognized for the seventh consecutive year as one of “America’s Most Challenging High Schools” by the Washington Post, and we have been ranked in the top 6 percent of U.S. public high schools for 2014.

We also have seen our students enroll in and complete more Advanced Placement (AP)/college-level and dual-credit coursework than ever before. Members of the class of 2014 will graduate having earned nearly $6 million in scholarships, and they have been accepted to more than 180 colleges and universities in more than 20 states throughout the U.S.

Beyond the classroom, our students continue to succeed in competitive athletics and activities. That includes earning conference, regional, state and national recognition for their performances. Willowbrook athletic teams have won three conference titles this year, 39 athletes have received All-Conference recognition, 71 athletes have received Academic All-Conference honors and 14 student-athletes have signed to play their sport at the collegiate level. Students also qualified to compete at the state and national levels in DECA, BPA, Ford/AAA, SkillsUSA, Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) Speech, Theatre, Math and Science Olympiad.

Our students continue to live the Warrior Code and give back to our communities as well, raising funds for those in need and completing service projects. Our Relay For Life of District 88 All Youth event has raised more than $55,000 for the American Cancer Society, and our senior class has dedicated 10,000 hours of community service this school year! Those accomplishments, along with the numerous volunteer activities and donations provided to food pantries, soup kitchens, local parks and our own community are examples of the Warrior Pride, Tradition and Excellence that has defined Willowbrook High School for 55 years.

As we conclude this school year, we would like to thank the members of the class of 2014 for their leadership and the legacy they have left for all future Warriors. We also would like to thank our amazing staff and Board of Education for their tireless commitment to student development and success. And we would like to thank our parents and community members for their tremendous partnership each and every day.

Have a great summer, and thank you for your continued support of Willowbrook High School.
