Addison Trail and Willowbrook staff members and students present during College Board A Dream Deferred conference

From March 8 to 10, College Board hosted its annual A Dream Deferred conference, which took place in Chicago.

The mission of A Dream Deferred is to provide a platform for educators to present strategies that address the unique educational and cultural needs of this important group of students.”

Willowbrook Director of Counseling Dana Whittaker, Willowbrook school counselor Melisa Williams-Rivera, Willowbrook English Department Head Dr. Portia Ransom and Addison Trail Science Department Head Dr. Erin Groth, along with Addison Trail and Willowbrook students, attended the event and led a session entitled, “Teach Them, and Let Them Lead the Way.” The presentation focused on how District 88 uses student voice as the driving force of all programming and strives to see the faces and stories behind the data and analytics collected to evaluate student success.
