MISCELLANEOUS ASSIGNMENTS

 

 

ZZ55013 Learning Support Center

The Learning Support Center (LSC) is a friendly place for students to get help with a wide range of academic activities.  The LSC staff is committed to helping students feel positive about their learning experiences.  Students are encouraged to come to the LSC for help with concepts they do not understand, for help with homework assignments and long-term projects, and for help studying for tests.  Students who have been absent and need help getting caught up may come to the LRC for assistance with both the work to be completed and the development of an overall plan to organize make-up efforts.  Individual teachers and/or counselors may initiate a contract with students to attend the LSC for a specified period of time.  Parents will be informed when a student is assigned to the LSC. 

 

ZZ55053 Office Assistant 

Student office assistants participate in various offices and laboratories in the building. These students work with staff members in the day to day operation of the school. Duties may include filing, typing, organizing laboratory setups or other clerical procedures.

 

ZZ55043 Media Center Assistant

The Library Media Center is an academic center where student teams work together, complete projects and do research in a relaxed setting.  The MC Assistants work with the staff team with the operations of the center.  Duties include any of the following:  organizing and processing resources, shelving, and circulating materials; delivering sign-in logs; preparing exhibits; word processing; working with electronic indexes, and providing assistance to library users.  Student assistants learn to use a library effectively and gain skills appropriate in any future employment. The Media Center Director gives final approval for participation in the student assistant program.

 

ZZ55033Technology Assistant

Students interested in computer technology will work with technicians in the office or computer labs.  Duties related to the PC's in the building may include copying/formatting disks, updating inventory, installing software or keeping the labs clean.  Media responsibilities may include videotaping school productions and helping office staff with various audiovisual requests.  There are no prerequisites for this activity.  Final approval must be given by the Technology Center Staff.
