District and State Assessments

District 88 students are assessed yearly on their progress in meeting the State of Illinois Learning Standards. These skills-based assessments are reviewed by staff to determine areas of need and inform instructional delivery. Students are assessed in the following sequence:

District 88 Assessments administered:

Incoming 8th graders: EXPLORE exam (January/February)

Freshman: PLAN exam (Pre-Fall, Post - Spring)

Sophomores: ACT practice exam (Pre-Fall, Post- Spring)

Juniors: ACT practice exam (Pre-Fall , Post-Spring)

State of Illinois Assessment:

Prairie State Examination (PSAE) - condition of graduation

Administered to all Juniors in April
