Group Evaluation of Process - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

After all presentations are completed and before the teacher gives any feed back, ask each student to write a one page journal style reflection on the presentations.  They should respond to the following ideas:

  • What worked well for presentations as a whole?
  • What worked well for my presentation?
  • What can we do better on in future presentations as a class?
  • What can I do better on the next presentation?

Give students 10 – 15 minutes to write.  Then discuss with the students their ideas, especially on what worked well or needs to be improved as a class?  Make a list and have students copy in their notes.  Have a class member make large posters of the results to be displayed in the class room so when they work on the next presentation, they are reminded of these things.

Collect and read their entries, focusing on their reflections on their individual work.
