Addison Trail High School Information Literacy Model

The Addison Trail High School five-step Information Literacy Model, STUDY was developed by a teacher team and adopted in 1996. It was reviewed and updated in 2003.  Information Literacy is the ability to locate, evaluate and use information.  It is a metacognitive process (thinking about thinking) that helps students understand the process of learning, thinking, and researching in order to solve problems.  The classroom teacher and the school media specialist best accomplish teaching information skills in collaboration and in context.
