Sticky Note Discussion

Sticky-note discussions work effectively when students are working in groups.  As students read or after they have read a selection, ask them to use sticky notes to mark the places they want to talk about.  These might be parts they have questions about, sections they really enjoy, sections they find humorous, or parts where the author has an interesting or controversial idea.

Sticky-notes are a great way to bring something in writing to the group discussion.  The notes can then be moved, organized, ranked, grouped, etc. with the group.

Sticky-notes can be used to mark sections in the text that the students

Sticky-notes can also be used to help students summarize and then cover paragraphs, pages, and/or sections of text.
