Begin by accessing the Library Catalog

1.       The titles of many of Margaret Truman’s books begin with the same word which begins with the letter “M.”  What is it?  Type in Truman, Margaret.  Click on AUTHOR. Now click on her name at the top of the list.  Look at the list and notice the titles of her books.  What is the first word of most of them?   __________________

2.       Look up the title Daughters of Eve.  Type it in and click on TITLE.  Click on this title at the top of the list.  What is this book’s call number?  ____________

3.       Type in drunk driving and click on KEYWORD.  How many titles are listed? Look at the total at the top of the title list______________

Now type in Drunk driving and click on SUBJECT.  Look at this heading at the top of the list and the number to the left of it.  How many titles are listed now?  _________________Why are there more items in the KEYWORD search list?

4.       Find a book which discusses the Holocaust during World War II.  Type in Holocaust and click on SUBJECT.  Look at the list of subject headings and click on “Holocaust, 1933-1945--Cartoons and caricatures.”  Pick any title from this list.  What is its title?  __________________  What is its author?______________________ What is its call number?________

5.       Locate the art print in our collection called “Bareback Riders.”  Who painted it?  Type in Bareback Riders and click on TITLE.  Click on “Bareback Riders” at the top of the list.  Look at the full record carefully.  Who is the author? (or, in this case, the artist?)  __________________________
